Governance

Governance

Our community is enriched by the personal investment and commitment of our parents and governors.

Our Governors are very proud of the heritage of the School; it has been at the heart of the community in Abu Dhabi since it was founded in 1968 and is built on land generously donated by the founding president of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The Board of Governors works to high standards to ensure that the School is at its best. In our latest UK inspection report under the UK Government’s Standards for British Schools Overseas (BSO), carried out in March 2019 the School was rated ‘Outstanding’.

The British School Al Khubairat, unlike the vast majority of independent and private schools locally, is a not-for-profit school, which means that every dirham we receive is reinvested in the School for the benefit of our students.

Board Annual Reports

Our Policies

The school has a number of key policy documents that cover many areas of the School’s life.  The action we take to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm is everyone's responsibility and all have a role to play

You can request printed copies of our policies from reception or by contacting us.

School Inspections

Our school is inspected by two external organisations: B.S.O. (British Schools Overseas) and ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge).

The inspections cover key areas and summarise their findings in categories which describe what the school does well and areas where we need to improve. We strive hard to ensure that we meet the recommendations given in both reports by the next inspection.
