We recognise and celebrate the contribution of all our students, staff and parents to our OUTSTANDING ratings in the ADEK Inspection, the British Schools Overseas and the award for Best British School in the UAE in 2019.
In 2023, BSAK was rated OUTSTANDING by the Department Of Education And Knowledge (2023-2024 Report).
The report highlights that despite the longer-term impact of the recent pandemic on students’ learning, the school has sustained its record of high academic performance, particularly evident in students’ attainment at the end of Years 11 and 13. In 2022, students’ outcomes at the end of Year 11 were outstanding in 27 of the 29 courses on offer and students continue to gain places at prestigious universities and further educational institutions across the world. The report praises the broad, rich curriculum, with its wide-ranging extra-curricular program, including extensive high-quality provision for music and the creative and performing arts. It also commends the existing suite of BTEC courses, offering vocational courses in Business, Sport and Engineering, and additional single courses now on offer.

BSAK is extremely proud and honoured to have scooped the gold standard Mental Health Award, from the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools, for its outstanding mental health and wellbeing provision.
This award recognises that we are excelling across all eight competencies of the School Mental Health Award and that we have continuously built on our wellbeing structures, strategies and practices since our first validation, two years ago.
Across the whole School, BSAK provides a wide range of activities to enhance the wellbeing of students and staff. These include a Counselling Service, an embedded range of preventative measures and activities, a wellbeing group for staff, and working with students’ parents to develop their wellbeing practice at home. The Primary curriculum is run by the Assistant Headteacher for Wellbeing, and a MELS programme is run by a Secondary Deputy Head Teacher. Mindfulness, mental health and wellbeing lessons, restorative justice and the use of social media platforms to signpost support and information via Twitter and Facebook are just some of the initiatives.
BSAK achieved the top level of The British Council’s International School Award (ISA) in 2017. The British School Al Khubairat and The Dubai British School Jumeirah Park were celebrating their success at becoming the first ever, international schools to be awarded the full accreditation of the British Council’s International School Award (ISA).
‘We were delighted to be recognised for the global dimension that resonates throughout our school life and can be seen in action in projects such as: creative language learning; working with partner schools across the world; the development of cultural awareness, global citizenship; and environmental awareness’.
The ISA was established by the British Council 18 years ago to recognise UK schools that demonstrate a truly international perspective across their curriculum and embed it into their culture, such that young people gain the understanding and skills they need for life and work in today’s global world. This year for the first time the British Council opened up the award to English curriculum international schools around the world.
Only 4 schools worldwide were successful, and only two UAE schools achieved the Full ISA – the top level of the award.
The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities.
