EMBRACING NEW CHALLENGES

We foster a welcoming environment for our BSAK families, that is genuinely friendly and happy. The School's inclusive community spirit, in which everyone is valued, embraces diversity and empathy.

All children in BSAK Primary School are encouraged to achieve their best in academic, sporting and creative fields, whilst at the same time developing their social skills; manners, a respect for each other and those around them, kindness, helpfulness and a willingness to participate for the benefit of others.
Achievement and laughter are our trademarks!

Children are central to all we do and our school is a way of life for all.  We are in the business of teaching children to a high standard, turning them into confident and interested learners.
It is not just our heritage and facilities that mark out our school; it is the atmosphere and happiness that runs throughout our community.

We are a lively, busy, happy and hardworking school where our students are helped to develop a ‘growth mind-set’ and achieve the best they can.

Primary Information

Primary Curriculum

At BSAK Primary, our curriculum is a carefully designed journey that begins in the Early Years and continues seamlessly through to Year 6. Based on the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Curriculum for England 2014 - adapted to our unique setting in the UAE - it offers a rich, balanced, and inclusive learning experience.

We blend British and UAE curriculum subjects to provide a well-rounded education that values academic success, strong morals, and cultural understanding. British, Emirati, and wider global cultures are celebrated throughout school life, helping children develop respect, empathy, and a strong sense of community.

Learning is thoughtfully sequenced, with children building on what they know and making meaningful connections across subjects. Teachers use evidence-based practices to ensure children not only learn but remember and apply their knowledge.

We take pride in our curriculum - but more importantly, we ensure it continues to grow, evolve, and inspire.

Early Years

Our youngest learners thrive in calm, welcoming spaces designed for play, exploration, and joyful discovery. Staff respond to children’s interests, laying the foundations for a lifelong love of learning.

Key Stage 1

In Years 1 and 2, we blend structured teaching with hands-on experiences, helping children grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity.

Key Stage 2

In Years 3–6, children build on strong foundations, deepening their knowledge and thinking skills. Specialist teaching and rich opportunities prepare them for the next stage of education and life beyond Primary.

Primary Inclusion

A Holistic, Child-Centred Approach

Inclusion at BSAK is rooted in a holistic and child-centred philosophy. Our provision is tailored to meet the unique needs of every child, offering support that is personalised, responsive, and respectful of individual differences.

Our Team

The Inclusion Department includes three qualified Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teachers, supported by a large team of dedicated Inclusion Assistants. These assistants work either on a 1:1 basis with students or within year groups, providing support that is additional to or different from that received by their peers.

Collaborative, Multi-Disciplinary Support

We use a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to ensure each child's needs are fully understood and addressed to provide coordinated support for our students.

The team works closely with:

  • Class Teachers

  • Heads of Year

  • Senior Leaders
  • School Counsellors

  • Educational Psychologists

  • Speech & Language Therapists

  • Occupational Therapists

  • Medical professionals

Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Children identified with a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND) receive an Individual Education Plan (IEP), tailored to their specific goals and needs. These IEPs are regularly reviewed and updated in line with the child’s progress and ongoing assessment.

Guided by Best Practice

Our practice is guided by the British Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice (2014). We follow the Assess, Plan, Do, Review model to ensure that interventions are purposeful, effective, and continually evaluated for impact.

Nurturing Independence and Confidence

At the heart of our Inclusion work is the commitment to building every child’s self-confidence and promoting a positive self-image as a learner. We aim to identify both strengths and barriers to learning, equipping students with the skills and strategies they need for greater independence and long-term success.
