The Drama programme at BSAK encompasses a full variety of activities to challenge and engage all students.
The making and performing of theatre enable students to develop essential life skills: physical and vocal self-confidence; the social disciplines of working in a group; an extended emotional range; development of creativity and a respect for the work of others.
A rich and prolific range of performance opportunities is available to every child at BSAK.
Two grand scale productions a year for performers of all ages and House Drama and Drama Clubs are available to those who want a smaller involvement.
The department has an enviable reputation for the quality of its public performance work and original writing.
Recent performance projects have included Billy Elliot, Return To The Forbidden Planet, The Pirates of Penzance, Grease, Twelfth Night, The Bentley Project, The Roses of Eyam, and Romeo and Juliet. Students can also opt to be involved in technical theatre, costume and ‘front of house’ roles. We have an impressive Drama alumni working professionally or studying at major drama schools internationally.
