INTRODUCING PRIMARY LEADERS
TERM 1 2022/2023

A core value at BSAK is to create leadership and service opportunities to promote a culture of care, responsibility and tolerance both in school and beyond. Every year we choose Heads and Deputy Heads, prefects, house captains, subject ambassadors and many more to enable students to develop these skills. We recently caught up with our Primary Heads and Deputy Heads to ask them why they applied for a leadership role and their ambitions for the post.  We are so impressed with their answers that show great humility and maturity.

Isla Pinder Head Girl
(Sapphire class)

Hi, my name is Isla Pinder and I am proud to be the new Head Girl at BSAK. I grew up in a small village in Hampshire, England and came to the UAE with my family three years ago. My time at this amazing school has taught me so much. One thing I’ve learned here is that if you don’t try a new thing because you’re scared of failing, you’ve already failed. That’s why I applied to be Head Girl and I am so thankful to have the opportunity. I will show my love and passion for our school. I want to listen to your ideas and I really hope you will all support me with mine too. We are so fortunate to be a part of this fantastic school, with teachers who are kind, funny, and brilliant! We are very lucky to have the opportunity to do so many activities at BSAK, including sports, music, and art.

This school has inspired me to take on new challenges and I adore every second of it. I particularly love reading, science, and art. Outside of school, my passions are cricket, skiing, tennis, and netball.  I also started SCUBA diving and hope to get my PADI qualification soon.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you all have a fun and fantastic rest of the term.

Emma Shepherd Deputy Head Girl
(Oxford class)

My name is Emma Shepherd.  I started BSAK in Nursery and can’t believe I am now in year 6!
I have an older brother in Year 9 and a twin sister who both attend BSAK.

My Passion for BSAK is all about community and being an active member of the school. I applied for the role of Head Girl because as a member of the senior class in primary school we are looked up to by the other classes.

I wanted to be a role model for all the other BSAK students, as other Head Girls and Boys have been to me throughout my time at BSAK, and I want to be the best version of myself that I possibly can be.  During my time in this role, I hope to organize a number of beach clean-ups, and I will try to make our year 6 the best year 6 in history!

Quade Bruce Head Boy
(Sapphire class)

My name is Quade Bruce from Year 6 Sapphire. I am a kind, sporty, empathetic individual who loves animals and I really enjoy being a student at our school. BSAK is the best school I have ever been to. There are lots of hard-working students, supported by kind, loving teachers who help us to achieve our goals. I am currently the Primary Head Boy and it is a real honor to represent the school in this role. I personally wanted to have this responsibility to help people and make them feel better, for example making new students feel at home. I have had previous leadership roles as I captained my rugby and cricket teams.

As Head Boy, I will aim to make everyone smile and be happy, though I still want them to follow the rules. I want to make the school a happy place where children can enjoy studying and look forward to coming to their second home.

Arthur Carter Deputy Head Boy
(Royal class)

Hi, I’m Arthur Carter, I have been at BSAK since I was in nursery and I feel proud and happy to represent the school as Deputy Head Boy and I'm excited about future events.
I loved being a house leader and class rep and I enjoy being part of the team. I'm looking forward to what this role brings.
