At BSAK, we invest in expert sports teaching to help every child become mentally and physically strong. We love the enthusiasm that has built our excellent sports record across the Middle-East. 

Sport plays a fundamental part in every student's education and personal growth at BSAK. We pride ourselves on offering an outstanding provision of sporting opportunities through our Physical Education and games curricula and our extensive co-curricular programme.

The School has a far reaching sporting reputation across the Middle East and is well established as one of the strongest sports providers in in Abu Dhabi, competing in both the ADISSA (Abu Dhabi International Schools Sports Association) and DASSA (Dubai Athletic School Sports Association) 

In addition to our core sports, the School takes part in elite International sporting competitions and our students are the current champions of 3 of the 5 major sporting competitions held by both BSME (British Schools Middle East) and COBIS (Council of British International Schools).

Football

Football is BSAK’s most popular and successful sport at BSAK, for both boys and girls. Over 200 students from Primary and Secondary represent BSAK in the ADISSA Leagues and many more students also participate in developmental and recreational football clubs as part of our co-curricular programme.

Term 1 focuses on the boys with Secondary teams at U19, U16, U14 and U12 competing alongside our Primary U9 and U11 girls teams. In Term 2 the focus shifts to Secondary girls and Primary boys and the BSAK run tri-series is hosted for all UAE schools in February

Rugby

The rugby programme at BSAK offers rugby to students from Year 3 in the Primary school through to the U19 1st XV in the Sixth Form. There are approximately 200 students engaged in after school rugby training and matches and BSAK is always contending for honours in the various competitions in the UAE."

The focus in Term 1 is to complete another successful Dubai 7s campaign. Touch rugby is the focus of competitive teams at U9, U11, U14 and U19 whilst our contact teams are in their conditioning phase before their seasons begin in Term 2.
Our BSAK Tri-series Rugby is hosted in November.
 

 

 

Netball

Netball is a very popular choice for BSAK girls from Years 3 to 13. There is an opportunity to participate in the sport throughout the year whether it is for fun or on a competitive level in the Abu Dhabi and Dubai Schools’ leagues and tournaments.

Term 1 focuses on Secondary school with teams at U19, U16, U14 and U12 and our Primary players prepare for the spot light in Term 2.

The BSAK Tri-series Netball is hosted in January

Swimming

Swimming is a year-round sport providing opportunities for all ages and levels of ability. This can be on a recreational or competitive basis, and expert help is on hand to support and develop our students. We compete in local fixtures, open meets and international competitions.

The Primary and Secondary Swim Squads train four times a week and continue to develop their competition experience ready for regular Galas throughout the year.
 

 

Strength and Conditioning

Strength and conditioning is a vital aspect of all elite sport’
 With the introduction of our strength and conditioning programme, BSAK teams have become a strong opposition to face. Each team has strength and conditioning fully incorporated into their season, with individual and team specific training given to every athlete.

Cricket

Cricket is a very popular sport with both our staff and students.

The BSAK cricket season includes fixtures for our U12, U14 and U16 teams against staff and support staff as well as matches against other teams in the ADISSA leagues.
 

 

Golf

Golf thrives at BSAK in partnership with Abu Dhabi City Golf Club and it became a popular choice of sport at the School when the Abu Dhabi Schools and Clubs League began in 2011.  Now nearly 100 students across Abu Dhabi compete for the coveted title.
