Superstar Sana selected for England squad
30 May 2012: Huge congratulations to Sana Tufail (Year 11) who has been selected for the England U16 team to play at the European Young Masters (EYM) in Hungary in July. The England team of two boys and two girls will compete against teams made up of the best young golfers from each of the 30 European countries. EYM champions are automatically promoted into Europe’s U18 team against the USA for the Junior Ryder Cup held in September. This is an incredible achievement and just the latest in a growing list of successes for the young golfing prodigy.
In April Sana won the 2011/12 Emirates Golf Federation’s Ladies Order of Merit titles both in gross and net division, confirming her position as the top female golfer in the UAE. Sana won an incredible 10 consecutive tournaments out of 11 that count towards the Order of Merit, breaking par in eight rounds and averaging 72.7 per round, finishing with a record total of 324 points which is also the highest number of points accrued by any player in the history of EGF’s Order of Merit for both men and women. She also won the net division with 183.5 points. Last year Sana became the youngest player ever to take part in the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters.
