Since the completion of the Phase 4 development, an extra 7,274 square metres of outdoor space has been added to the school. Within the campus we now have two synthetic-turf pitches – one completely under shade, as well as cricket practice area and shaded courts for netball and basketball.
Our high quality grass pitch, ‘The Gnoll’, is within walking distance of the school. The facilities include full flood-lighting, changing facilities for boys, girls and staff, a First Aid clinic and 24-hour security. It is used daily for Secondary School PE lessons and after school for Football and Rugby training and fixtures.
With BSAK’s expanding programme of sports coaching, we also make use of several excellent quality sports facilities off-campus. Our cricket ‘home ground’ is in the impressive setting of The Emirates Palace, and our cricketers also play at the renowned Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium which hosts international matches.
Other facilities we use are The City Golf Club course and driving range for the BSAK Golf Club; and Zayed Sports City for netball, football and rugby tournaments, as well as the occasional use of their 400m track.
